1st May – the day we put out our May altar in our home and bless our homes and land with the Easter water.  Information about the May altar is on the PDO section of diocesan website and on our facebook page.
The text and prayers for blessing homes and land on 1st May is now on the facebook page.
Pope Francis has asked that in every home the rosary would be prayed each day during the month of May.  He has also given us two extra prayers to say at the end of the rosary – they are available on the front page of the Diocesan website.
3rd May – is Vocations Sunday when are asked to pray for Vocations to the priesthood and consecrated life. The prayer is on the PDO section of the diocesan website and will be on the facebook page at the weekend.  It is also a time to encourage members of our own families to talk about vocations – perhaps this is a conversation you can have in your home as we spend more time together.
12th May – is International Nurses Day.
13th May – Our Lady of Fatima
16th -24th May is Laudato si week when we mark the 5th anniversary of the publication of this document by Pope Francis.
Also available on the Diocesan website front page are links to the Grow in Love primary school RE programme for parents to use at home as well as copies of the letters Bishop Fintan has written to the children preparing for the sacraments this year which are now deferred until later in the year.
